Trust Flow was brought to life by Majestic . As the name kind of reveals, Trust Flow refers to the trustworthiness of a website. The metric is measured on a scale of 0 to 100, so the Trust Flow is a measure of how trustworthy a domain is. But how does this metric work?
The Trust Flow is measured by the number of trusted inbound backlinks to a page. Here, the reliability of a backlink is more important than the number of backlinks. Thus, a page with 5 quality backlinks scores better on the Trust Flow metric than a page with 50 low-quality backlinks.
To ensure that Trust Flow is a valid metric, Majestic uses so-called “Seed sites. These websites have been compiled into the Web through a manual review. This trusted stream of websites is the foundation of Trust Flow. Sites that have close links to trusted seed sites receive higher scores. Sites that have few of these close links will receive lower scores.
