The Premise

Preply is an online language learning platform that connects teachers with hundreds of thousands of students across 180 countries worldwide. Its database includes more than 40,000 teachers covering over 50 languages and utilizes a machine learning algorithm to recommend the best instructors for each student.

From March 2024 to March 2025, Preply decided to expand their digital PR activities in Italy to increase brand awareness in the country. The goal was to secure more publications in high-quality media to enhance the website’s authority and drive increased traffic.

The Strategy

First, Seeders conducted a brainstorming session to identify current trends and topics of interest in Preply’s sector. This allowed us to identify different opportunities to create content that would generate interest and capture the audience’s attention. We focused on a mix of language and cultural topics, always considering recurring events throughout the year related to both aspects and targeting high quality media. 

Another key aspect was incorporating local and city-specific elements whenever possible, as the media sector in Italy is characterized by a high number of local news media that prioritize content relevant to their regions and cities. Finally, repitches were strategically planned to maximize the impact of each campaign.

The data was collected from validated online sources, SEO tools, and survey results.

Preply’s goal was to improve the quality of its incoming links and achieve publications from high-quality domains.

The Results

During the year of the collaboration, the target was met and surpassed. By the end of the collaboration, a total of 1,071 publications were secured, including 680 from high-quality domains, 293 of which contained a link.
