Achievements in the international market, with Jan van Oosterhout – Just Carpets

Just Carpets is a company specialized in the production of tailored car and trunk mats. Founded in 2009, it grew to become a large player on the international market delivering thousands of mats across European customers. They provide all their clients through their own production facility located in Kampen. This enables them to provide their products at an excellent price/quality ratio. Since June 2019, Just Carpets is working with Seeders to support their international link building and SEO activities. We had an interview with Jan van Oosterhout, an SEO marketeer at Just Carpets to discuss their request to Seeders and the results this has brought them. Curious? Continue reading below!

Nice to talk to you, Jan! What is the reason for your collaboration with Seeders?

“A few years ago, when I started in my role at Just Carpets, there were many improvement points in the field of SEO. For example, redirecting 404 pages, cropping images, extend robots.txt content, optimization of page titles, etc. Next to that, we were expanding rapidly across markets, opening up webshops in multiple countries. To ensure we could be successful across these markets through organic search results, it was important to identify a company that could help us. Eventually, we decided to move forward with Seeders; an online marketing agency that is specialized in online marketing and link building.”

Interesting. How did Seeders help you in the years of collaboration?

“Seeders has supported us through (international) link building, as we do not have the capabilities to do this across markets at scale. Besides that, we had no expertise in link-building approaches that work across these markets. Seeders have a vast international link-building network and the capabilities to address these markets accordingly. I also just started at Just Carpets, meaning there was a steep learning curve ahead of me as well. Especially in the beginning, Gerjan Schoemaker has helped me to improve my knowledge in the SEO field. Gerjan thought me a lot.”

Which approach has been used to deliver success?

“Together with Seeders we have defined our strategy and distilled KPIs that align with the strategy. The essence is to have our most important pages to achieve top rankings in Google. Additionally, we are analyzing which pages are important on a country-by-country basis to grow organic traffic to our local webshops. Using tools such as SE Ranking we analyzed to select the pages. Once identified, we developed an action plan to work towards the goals defined. Hereby we focused on using as many organic search results that relate to our branding as possible. Linkbuilding and SEO is a long-term strategy, meaning you will not immediately see its results tomorrow. Seeders understand this, and tracks the activities to be able to measure what the efforts have realized over time.”

That sounds good! Could you tell us about the realized outcomes?

“We realized top raking across all countries on key strategic keywords such as ‘car mats’, ‘trunk mats’ and ‘rubber car mats’. Besides that, we have strong positions on other keywords in Google as well as an authoritative brand overall.

Whenever a new car model is brought to market, we create a page for the specific car including car and trunk mats. This allows us to have an advantage over our competitors. Through our strong SEO positions across our webshops, we observe #1 rankings in Google whenever we create a new category or page. Next to these results, we have many successes to celebrate. That is the driver for us!”

Active in many countries

“We collaborate with Seeders for our webshops in The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, and Sweden. For example, in The Netherlands, we place 20 links via starting pages and 3-way links from qualitative blogs monthly. During the execution of our strategy, Gerjan remained engaged and continued to share his SEO knowledge. He thought me how to distinguish a good link from a bad, and when and how to take out a bad link.”

Talking about results! How is the collaboration with Seeders progressing now?

“The collaboration with Seeders continues smoothly and we are very satisfied. Every month I provide the anchor content and they start to allocate them to the respective countries and blogs. At the end of the month, I receive a status report including the links and authority of the respective website used. We truly appreciate the pro-activeness and knowledge sharing of Seeders that allows us to continue realizing successes in the SEO domain.”
